In late May our HVAC vendor Luxaire, installed a dual lamp ultraviolet light kit on our main rooftop Air Conditioning unit, that services the most utilized spaces of the Shul.
As you may or may not know UV lights have been used for years in medical settings (operating rooms, labs, medical exam rooms etc.) they are a front line of defense against airborne viruses, allergens and mold spores. Luxaire has been installing them in medical and office environments for many years. They felt that it was a very effective way for us to address better air quality as it relates to Covid-19.
We were given an excellent price from the manufacturer, who at the time, had additional units available, and wanted to work with any non-profit that could benefit from this technology. Because of this we were given a significant discount versus the regular price. Today these units are selling at a much higher price point or might not be available at all based on demand.
We want to again thank Sandy Glaser the President of Luxaire who facilitated this and did the installation for a significant discount.”
